Notes:
Blind portrait self reflection:
The idea of not knowing who I'm drawing inspired me to create this drawing because it helped me shape up different ideas and put them together into one. I first used chalk to give the stars a glow, then I outlined it with a marker which I wish I hadn't. For the main part of the drawing I used prisma colors to fill in the owl and the person and give a shade to each one of them. I want the audience not to only look at the main part of the drawing but to also to focus on the background and how it shifts from side to side creating the idea of freedom. My first difficult encounter was that the drawing looked plain and basic. It felt like I didn't but any much of an idea. I worked through that by adding different backgrounds. I wish I used different art materials. I did some research on different types of owls, and some references on the human shape but that's about all. The most successful part of my work would be the shading but everything else could use more improvement.
Midterm Self Reflection
Titles:
1- The Unfolding Self
2- Simple Blessing
3- From Ashes We Rise
SI:
- I will focus on presenting a detailed look at the importance of my country's history, It's current economic state, as well as it's future outlook.

Question:
- How has Sudan's complex history shaped it's current economic state, and what will the potential future look like.

How do my pieces show experimentation?
- My art style focuses on drawing faces, typically anime or manga style, and that's what I did with my first two pieces. But for my third piece I tried to incorporate structure as my main idea.

How does my SI express my unique experiences?
- My SI stems up from the experiences and memories I have collected throughout my lifetime.

Does my work demonstrate skillful synthesis of materials, processes and ideas?
- My work does not demonstrate as much skillful material use as I intended it to. The lack of different mediums may have lowered it's overall quality.

Guiding Questions:
- one question I thought of that could help with my future pieces is, "how will I incorporate the future development of my country into my pieces". It does not stem far away from my SI, and as I research more about the history I can come up with something for one of my pieces.
Biggest challenges I faced in AP Art:
- Coming up with the SI idea was an easy part of my art class but executing that idea was challenging. Although my main idea was clear, trying to put into a unique type of art was hard and it delayed my work by a lot.

Time management skills:
- Time management was difficult on my end and it definitely affected my pieces. To improve this skill I will plan ahead for my pieces and make sketches for each one.

Next three pieces:
1- Future development of my country's technology.
2- Social life
3- detailed history.
